China condemns U.S. tariffs at WTO, calls Trump’s policies unfair

Posted on February 19, 2025   |

China criticized U.S. tariffs at a (WTO) World Trade Organization  meeting, warning they could disrupt global trade, while the U.S. dismissed the concerns.

Trump imposed a 10% tariff on Chinese imports, prompting China to respond with its own tariffs and file a WTO complaint.

The trade dispute may test Trump’s stance on the WTO, as tensions between the U.S. and China grow.

China accused the U.S. of harming the global trade system, while the U.S. claimed China had not kept its WTO commitments.

The U.S. argued that China failed to meet its trade promises, saying it had not honored agreements made when joining the WTO.
