Egypt’s inflation rate continues to fall, dropping to 24% in October

Egypt's core inflation was 1.3% in October 2024, down from 1.8% in October 2023 and 1% in September.

Urban headline inflation stood at 1.1% in October 2024, compared to 1% in October 2023 and 2.1% in September.

Core inflation excludes food and energy, while urban headline inflation tracks price increases for everyday items in cities.

Egypt's annual headline inflation rose to 26.3% in October 2024, up from 26% in September.

Monthly headline inflation dropped to 1.5% in October, from 2.3% in September.

Core inflation decreased slightly, from 25.1% in August to 25% in September.

Fitch Ratings expects inflation to fall to 12.5% by FY 2025, and the IMF projects 16% inflation by June 2025.
