Egypt's unemployment rate soared to 7.2% in Q2 2022

- From April to June, unemployed individuals grew by 0.3% to 2.151 million compared to 2.145 million in the first quarter of 2022, and Q2 of 2022 saw a 1.7% increase in unemployment compared to Q2 of 2021.
- The age group between 15 and 29 years old unemployment rate grew by 61.3%.
- For 15 to 19-year-olds, the unemployment rate declined to 7.1% in Q2 compared to 8.2% in Q1.
- For 20 to 24-year-olds, the unemployment rate declined to 27.6% in Q2 compared to 28.2% in Q1.
- For 25 to 29-year-olds, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 26.6$ in Q2, compared to 26.6% in Q1.
- The unemployment rate reached 10.6% in Q2, increasing slightly compared to 10.5% in Q1, while it declined slightly compared to 11.2% in Q2 2021.
