EU and Eurozone experienced a drop in economic sentiment

Economic sentiment in the EU and eurozone experienced a monthly decline.

The economic sentiment index fell by 0.4 points to 92.8 in the 27 EU states and by 0.3 points to 93.3 in the 20 euro area states.

In contrast, the Employment Expectations Indicator (EEI) displayed an increase, rising by 0.6 points to 102.4 in the EU and by 0.5 points to 102.7 in the euro area, remaining above the long-term average.

However, the flash estimate of the consumer confidence indicator dropped for the 2nd straight month in both the EU and the euro area, with declines of 1.6% points in the EU and 1.8% in the eurozone.
