The House passed a ruling mandating the Treasury Department to show an interdepartmental analysis of the exposure to China’s financial sector.

The bill is called the China Financial Threat Mitigation Act.

It mandates a report to Congress covering US policies to protect its interests as China improves its financial sector, also an analysis of threats to the country’s financial stability and the global economy originating from China.

It also demands suggestions for measures the US government or its representatives at international organizations could take to reduce financial stability threats.

The bill directs the US Treasury Secretary to wait to submit a report to Congress until one year after the law goes into effect.
