Posted on July 18, 2022 |
- In June, the U.S. started this measure before the WTO’s ministerial meeting in Geneva and wants member countries to meet informally every two to three weeks to build an agreement, updating the system before formal discussions start at the WTO.
- Since April, dozens of countries have participated in three meetings, including China on updating the dispute settlement system.
- In the meeting, WTO revealed a package of agreements on issues including modifications to intellectual property rules related to Covid-19 vaccines and new rules aimed at reducing harmful fisheries subsidies to prevent overfishing.
