Vietnam-US trade approaches $90 billion milestone

Vietnam and the US reached $87.7 billion in trade over the past eight months, with strong growth in both exports and imports.

Vietnam exported $77.9 billion worth of goods to the US, a 25.4% increase from last year, making the US its top export market.

Imports from the US totaled $9.8 billion, up 6.9% year-on-year.

The top exports to the US were computers, electronics, and components, with sales of $13.19 billion, a 50.82% rise from last year.

Machinery, equipment, and spare parts followed, with exports of $11.14 billion, up 19.87% from the previous month.

The US also buys garments, textiles, footwear, and agricultural products from Vietnam.

Vietnam imports technology, production materials, and agricultural products from the US, supporting its industrial growth and improving domestic production.
