
B.C. to see a construction boom with $221 billion in development projects

At present, in B.C., $137 billion worth of construction projects are in progress, with another $221 billion worth of projects scheduled for the future.
This industry contributes 9.7% of the region's GDP every year, a 30% increase over the last 5 years but since 2020, the net loss of skilled trades workers fell by 9% to 163,900
Wages trend up over 5 years, with the average annual salary of a construction worker being $70,088, which is more than $17.6 billion from total payrolls last year.
92% of the 26,262 construction companies have less than 20 employees and the total number of companies grew by 8% since 2018.
