Egypt commits EGP 2 trillion to revitalize the transport sector after years of neglect

Egyptian President announced that the state has invested around EGP 2 trillion in improving the transport sector, including the railway system, in recent years.

The new Bashteel Railway Station in northern Giza will act as the main gateway to Upper Egypt and is four times larger than the historic Misr Railway Station (Ramses Station) in Cairo.

This modern station aims to reduce congestion at Ramses Station, which connects railways in all directions and helps ease traffic in Ramses Square.

The government chose to focus on the transportation sector despite other funding options due to its long history of neglect.

The president highlighted the commitment to enhancing public facilities for more efficient service to citizens.
