Egypt to deliver 3 gigawatts of electricity via an 853-mile-long undersea cable to European households

- The undersea power cable, GREGY, will bring 3,000 MW of renewable energy from Egypt to Attica, Greece, using the production of solar power from the Sahara Desert.
- The cable will be operational for 8 years of which one-third of the cable’s supply will power Greek heavier industry,
- Another third will be exported through a shared network to Bulgaria and Italy and the final third will be for the production of green hydrogen.
