Iraq’s Ministry of Construction unveils 70 infrastructure projects in 2025

The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities plans over 70 new infrastructure projects across Iraq, starting in 2025.
These projects will focus on improving connectivity and reducing congestion outside the capital.
The Roads and Bridges Directorate is leading the projects and working to ease traffic in Baghdad.
A key project, the Baghdad-Kirkuk road, is 400 km long, with 46 km completed in Kirkuk and 25 km in Diyala.
Construction continues on 162 km in Kirkuk and 110 km and 64 km in Diyala, with completion expected next year.
Other projects include upgrading the Baghdad-Abu Ghraib highway, linking the Karbala highway, widening the Al-Kifl-Najaf road, and building overpasses at Balad intersection on the Baghdad-Mosul route.
