Lumber prices grew by 5% as US housing starts soared over 20% in May

In May, US housing starts grew by 21.7% to 1.63 million units, the most extensive unit growth since January 1990.
As a result, lumber prices grew by 3% to $540 per thousand board feet as demand for the essential building commodity expanded.
