Chinese and Moroccan representatives signed an agreement in Rabat to launch the Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City project, a smart city initiative initiated by King Mohammed VI in 2017.

The smart city, set for completion by 2027, will host 200 Chinese companies, focusing on an integrated, sustainable industrial hub.

Chinese firms plan to establish factories in sectors like automotive, aerospace, textiles, electronics, and machinery on the 2000-hectare site.

The project contains a 947-hectare industrial zone and a 1,220-hectare area for residential, leisure, tourism, and essential infrastructure.

Key stakeholders, including Moroccan ministries and entities like the Bank of Africa, TMSA, and SATT, participate in the agreement.

The collaboration aims to create an innovative industrial city, signaling a shared commitment to economic and technological advancement.
