Muscat Governorate is focused on transforming its urban landscape and boosting tourism through several key projects.

Sultan Haitham City, Oman’s first smart city, covers 14 million square meters and is a major development.

The governorate is expanding investment sites, improving tourist attractions, and creating more entertainment areas and green spaces.

Muscat is working with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning on projects like the Muttrah Development and Sultan Qaboos Port Waterfront to create connected urban spaces.

The Hawiyat Najm Development Project in Quriyat includes recreational zones, green spaces, and efforts to preserve natural features.

The Bausher Sands Development will turn 362,000 square meters into a recreational hub with activities like quad biking, bike rentals, and family areas.

Muscat is advancing tourism developments, such as The Sustainable City – Yiti and the Aida Tourism Project, which includes the Trump International Hotel.

Infrastructure upgrades are underway, including the Muscat Expressway expansion, road improvements, and new intersections.
