UK eased planning rules to build more homes in city centers

Posted on July 31, 2023   |

The government will build 1 million homes in inner-city places where demand is high and growth is being constrained.

It also aims to alleviate rules on building extensions to saleable buildings and reusing agricultural buildings.

The government will spend £24 million to train planning authorities to boost significant developments, half of the funding will be from the department's current budget.

Moreover, £13.5 million will be for a super squad of planners to unblock development in Cambridge.
