According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI), builder sentiment for newly-built single-family homes decreased by 2 points in June, bringing the index to 43.

The June index reading of 43 is the lowest since December 2023 and stays below the neutral mark of 50.

The drop in builder confidence highlights reduced optimism in the market for newly-built single-family homes.
