August saw an increase in U.S. wood pellet exports

In August, the US exported 1.01 million metric tons of wood pellets, demonstrating a substantial increase against July and August 2022.

During August, U.S. wood pellet shipments reached 20 different countries, with the UL receiving the largest share at 558,943.5 metric tons, followed by Denmark at 157,802.7 metric tons and Japan at 133,415.7 metric tons.

The total value of U.S. wood pellet exports for August amounted to $183.07 million, signifying a noteworthy increase from the figures reported in both July and August 2022.

From January to August 2023, the US exported a total of 6.24 million metric tons of wood pellets, with a combined value of $1.15 billion. 

This represents an increase when compared to the 5.83 million metric tons worth $1.0 billion exported during the same period in 2022.
