Besse Forest Products Group has closed six green lumber sawmills and veneer mills in Wisconsin and Michigan, with the facilities now available for sale.

On September 6, the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan appointed Timothy Turek as receiver for Besse Forest Products Group’s assets.

The closed operations were crucial for producing worldwide cabinets, flooring, and furniture materials.

Four Wisconsin sites (Ladysmith, Goodman, Mattoon, and Rice Lake) are owned and included in the sale, while facilities in Gladstone and Baraga, Michigan, are leased.

If the entire operation isn't sold by October 31, assets will be sold individually starting in November, with bids accepted for single or multiple facilities.
