Brazilian wood-based product exports fell year-over-year in April

In April, Brazilian exports of wood-based products decreased by 9.0% in value, going from $336.3 million in April 2023 to $306.7 million in April 2024.

Tropical sawnwood exports fell 17.6% in volume, dropping from 29,000 m3 in April 2023 to 23,900 m3 in April 2024.

The value of tropical sawnwood exports decreased by 34.8%, from $15.5 million to $10.1 million.

Tropical plywood exports saw a 13.0% decline in volume, from 3,000 m3 in April 2023 to 2,600 m3 in April 2024.

The value of tropical plywood exports fell by 12.0%, from $1.7 million to $1.5 million.

Wooden furniture exports decreased in value by 3.0%, from $47.1 million in April 2023 to $45.5 million in April 2024.

Overall, Brazilian wood-based product exports showed a notable decline in both volume and value across various categories in April 2024.
