Canadian softwood lumber production in August increased by 2.5% from July to 3,772.6 thousand cubic meters, though it was 9.9% lower than the same month last year.

Sawmills in Canada shipped 3,835.1 thousand cubic meters of lumber in August, down 0.8% compared to July.

Year-over-year, Canadian sawmill shipments dropped by 2.1% in August.

While monthly production rose in August, both annual production and shipments showed declines
