- CCFM established the Canadian Dialogue on Wildfire and Forest Resilience to support the development of a pan-Canadian Wildland Fire Prevention and Mitigation Strategy.
- Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) supported the government’s standard launch of the national dialogue and participated as a panelist.
- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) released its Wildfire Crisis Strategy, which highlights the need for a change in the way fires are managed in the face of climate change, with management interventions such as specified burning and thinning, promotes, and has allocated $50 billion over 10 years to encourage forest resilience and community protection.
