Canfor announces production cuts at Southern US facilities

Posted on September 9, 2024   |

Canfor is cutting production at its southern US operations because of weak lumber markets.

One shift at the Darlington, South Carolina facility will be stopped indefinitely.

Canfor will reduce working hours at its Estill, South Carolina, and Moultrie, Georgia, locations.

Other southern US sites will also see production cuts to match market demand.

These changes will lower Canfor’s lumber production by about 215 million board feet annually.
