Canfor hit by new duties on softwood lumber exports

- Canfor Corporation is enduring the biggest brunt as new tariffs on softwood lumber exports into the United States come into effect.
- The penalty is 19.54%, higher than quadruple what the 4.62% was paid, and Canadian lumber producers will be paying 17.9% which is slightly less the 18.32% introductory rate issued in May but double than the first 8.99% rate.
- West Fraser has a competitive advantage as they are paying 11.12%, compared to 8.97%.
