China revised phytosanitary requirements for pine logs and lumber imports

  • China's General Administration of Customs removed new phytosanitary requirements for pine logs and lumber from the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Mexico where the pinewood nematode (roundworm) is present.
  • The new rules include testing and treating pine logs and lumber before exporting, phytosanitary certificate requirements, and port of entry requirements.
  • The new guidelines will implement on February 1st, 2022 which will limit the ports pine logs and lumber from the listed countries that can enter China.
