China to lower tariffs on timber products from January 1, 2023, for high-quality construction

The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council has announced that the imports and export tariffs of some commodities will be lowered with effect from 1 Jan 2023, including wood and paper products.

The decision is aimed to accelerate the development of high-quality construction in China, and boost the exchanges between domestic and international markets with regard to the construction industries.

China will enforce a temporary import tax rate lower than the most-favored-nation tax rate for 1,020 commodities.
