China's log imports grew by 6.86% from January to December 2021

- From January to December, the imports reached 63.58 million cubic meters, up 6.86% than the same period of last year, of which, softwood log imports accounted for 78.23% of the total.
- In December, China's log imports fell by 17.96% year on year to 5.15 million cubic meters in which the average price increased by 42.47% year on year to 193.10 US$/m³. Imports in December are higher 2.27% from November but the average price was 3.81% lower month on month.
- From January to December 2021, China imports:
- from New Zealand increased by 32.20% to 20.47 million m³,
- from Germany increased by 19.03% to 12.10 million m³,
- from Russia increased by 10.00% to 6.36 million m³
- from the United States increased by 6.49% to 4.12 million m³,
- from Papua New Guinea increased by 3.43% to 2.18 million m³,
- from Uruguay grew by 3.27% to 2.08 million m³,
- from Brazil rose 3.19% to 2.03 million m³, and
- from Solomons, imports reached 1.75 million m³, an increase of 2.75%.
