- Commonwealth Plywood Company Ltd. declared that it is reopening its closed sawmill which is in Rapides des Joachims, Pontiac Country, Quebec.
- Commonwealth invested over $1 million (CAD) to get the sawmill back into operation and will begin operations in November of this year.
- The sawmill will begin processing white and red pine logs on a one-shift basis and desires to hire 65 people to operate the mill and forestry operations very soon.
