December records notable growth in Brazilian wood product exports

Brazilian wood product exports grew by 2.0% to $270.8 million in December 2023 compared to December 2022.

Tropical sawnwood exports grew by 25.0% in volume but dropped by 10.0% in value from December 2022 to December 2023.

Tropical plywood exports fell by 28.0% in volume and 8.0% in value during the same period.

Wooden furniture exports saw a 4.0% increase in value, reaching $54.6 million in December 2023.

Overall, while there were fluctuations in specific wood-based product categories, the total value of Brazilian wood exports remained stable compared to the previous year.
