ENplus wood pellet use to resume in November as UK market and supply chain restructures

Posted on July 31, 2023   |

In early 2022, the UK Government temporarily suspended the GB users to only use ENplus A1 wood pellets to be eligible for RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) payments.

The Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) will shut down the temporary suspension on November 22nd, 2023.

ENplus pellet’s quality is managed throughout the whole supply chain, production, storage, and transport to the end consumer.

While noncertified wood pellets will have 10 times higher ash content which is less energy efficient and high boiler maintenance.

It will create clinker which will cause jams on the grate and reduce efficiencies.

Noncertified wood pellets contain high chlorine contents, which is a risk of accelerated heat exchanger corrosion in the biomass machine.
