February sees remarkable year-on-year growth in Brazilian wood exports

Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) rose by 16.0% year-on-year in value, reaching $304.2 million in February 2024.

Tropical sawnwood exports saw a decrease of 12.5% in volume, declining from 24,000 m3 in February 2023 to 21,000 m3 in February 2024. The value also dropped by 88.0%, from $12.7 million to $10.4 million over the same period.

Tropical plywood exports experienced a notable decline, with volumes dropping by 61.0% and values by 52%, from 4,600 m3 and $2.1 million in February 2023 to 1,800 m3 and $1.0 million in February 2024.

The value of wooden furniture exports from Brazil increased from $38.6 million in February 2023 to $45.9 million in February 2024, marking a 19.0% rise.
