Finland's exports and imports of timber products fell by 6% and 59% respectively from January-September

From January-September 2022, the value of exports of forest industry products in Finland fell by 6% to 11.29 billion euros compared to the previous year.

In the same period, the value of exports of woodworking products reached 3.40 billion euros and remained at the level of 2021, and in value, the sawn timber exports fell by 5%, and 3% in volume.

In September, the value of exports of forestry products fell by 4% to 1.35 billion euros than a year earlier.

The country reduced timber imports by 59% year-on-year to 3.93 million m³ in which, pulpwood accounted for 52% of deliveries, chips accounted for 32%, and logs accounted for 2%.

In September, wood supplies to Finland fell annually by 42% to 0.44 million m³, and Latvia accounted for 31% of imports, Sweden 27%, and Estonia 24%.
