Finland's wood imports climb 3% in the first 7 months of 2023

Between January and July 2023, Finland saw an increase in wood imports, totaling 3.14 million m³, a 3% rise compared to the previous year. 

Notably, pulpwood imports surged by 28%, while wood chips and log imports decreased by 28% and 15%, respectively.

The total value of Finland's forest product exports for the initial 7 months of 2023 reached 7.08 billion euros.

In July 2023, the export price for sawn timber amounted to 228 euros per m³, marking a substantial 22% decrease in real terms compared to the previous year's average.

Plywood export prices in July 2023 reached 747 euros per m³, indicating a notable 3% real-term increase compared to the previous year's average.
