Finnish timber exports to Europe fell by 26% in Q3 2022

In Q3 2022, Finnish exports of raw and sawn softwood to European countries fell by 26% to 764.9 thousand m³ and in Q1 and Q2, the decline in supplies amounted to 4%.
However, the deliveries to countries outside Europe grew by 39% to 1.157 million m³, which compensated for the decline of exports to European countries as the share of deliveries to non-European countries grew by 15% to 60% of all exports.
The exports to the UK and France halved year on year to 147.2 thousand m³ and 65.7 thousand m³ respectively and exports to Germany fell by 26% to 102.1 thousand m³.
In North Africa deliveries grew by 49% to 474.4 thousand m³, in the Near and Middle East deliveries grew by 8% to 189.1 thousand m³, and in East Asia deliveries grew by 43% to 468.6 thousand m³.
Exports to Egypt and China grew by 81% to 367 thousand m³ and by 189% to 267 thousand m³ respectively but exports to Japan fell by 21% to 155 thousand m³, and deliveries to the US amounted to 12.5 thousand m³.
