Forest and timber products boom for Port of Riga in 2022

The Port of Riga, in the capital of Latvia, saw forestry and timber industry cargo were the biggest cargo transshipped via the port in 2022.
15 stevedoring company terminals handled the cargo, and the 2022 transshipments included 5.5 million tons of timber products, which is 23% of the total cargo passing via the port.
Port of Riga’s performance indicators reflect Latvia’s forestry and timber industry’s situation. In 2022, the volume of timber ships moved in the Port of Riga grew by 11% compared to 2021.
