Ghana saw a 16% dip in wood export volumes in Q3

Ghana's wood exports experienced a 16% volume drop in Q3, 2023, compared to the previous quarter.

Q3 exports amounted to 68,785 m³, down from 81,683 m³ in Q2.

Total wood exports for the first 9 months of 2023 decreased by 15% to 227,245 m³ from the 267,622 m³ recorded in the same period in 2022.

The value of Q3 exports was €30.64m, showing a 33% decline from €45.56m a year ago. Key products included lumbers, veneers, plywood, and billets.

Among wood products, only plywood to West African markets and briquettes to the UK and Ireland saw volume increases of 22% and 26%, respectively, in Q3, 2023, compared to Q2 of the same year.
