January sees 13% annual growth in Brazilian wood product exports

Brazilian wood-based product exports, excluding pulp and paper, rose by 13.0% year-over-year in January, reaching $300.3 million compared to $266.6 million in January 2023.

Pine sawnwood exports increased by 8.5% in value, totaling $48.4 million in January 2024 compared to $44.6 million in the same period last year. In volume, exports grew by 16.0%.

Tropical-sawn wood exports experienced a decline of 16.0% in volume and 28.0% in value, dropping from $15.7 million to $11.3 million from January 2023 to January 2024.

Wooden furniture exports from Brazil saw a 12.0% increase, reaching $38.6 million in January 2024 compared to $34.6 million in January 2023.
