  • In January-June, the volume of sawn softwood imported to Japan from Europe grew annually by 33.7% to over 1.395 million m³ for the first time in the last 5 years.
  • Swedish imports of sawn softwood to Japan grew by 39.2% to 493.8 thousand m³, Finnish imports grew by 24.9% to 433.4 thousand m³, and Austrian imports grew by 56.1% to 161.4 thousand m³.
  • Latvia increased sawn softwood imports by 45.4% to 64 thousand m³, and German imports of sawn softwood grew by 177.9% to 62 thousand m³.
  • The Czech Republic increased its imports by 28.9% to 50.2 thousand m³, and Estonia grew its sawn softwood imports by 52% to 38.5 thousand m³ (+52.1%).
