Jasper Lumber Company received funding to expand the mill and boost its production from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC)

  • The funds from the ARC will increase a $300,000 Community Development Block Grant granted by the governor in March to assist Jasper Lumber Co. to boost its production and creating 60 new jobs.
  • The funds will be used to rebuild 2 rail lines from the mill to the main railroad line to transport its lumber.
  • Jasper Lumber's output of lumber will grow from 70 million to 200 million board feet annually with this expansion.
