July sees year-over-year growth in Brazilian wood-based product exports

Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) increased by 9.9% in July 2024, reaching $305.7 million, compared to $278.3 million in July 2023.

Tropical sawnwood exports dropped by 5.3% in volume in July 2024, with 25,000 m³ exported, down from 26,400 m³ in July 2023.

The value of tropical sawnwood exports also decreased by 14.9%, falling from $13.4 million in July 2023 to $11.4 million in July 2024.

Tropical plywood exports saw sharp declines, with a 35.3% decrease in value and a 34.5% decrease in volume from July 2023 to July 2024.

In July 2024, tropical plywood exports were valued at $1.1 million for 1,900 m³, down from $1.7 million for 2,900 m³ in July 2023.

Wood furniture exports from Brazil slightly increased by 2.3%, rising from $47.5 million in July 2023 to $48.6 million in July 2024.
