Koskisen begins operation at the new sawmill

Posted on July 14, 2023   |

The sawn timber production of the new processing unit began as planned at the start of July, which will gradually ramp up the production in H2 2023.

The total investment in the production of the new unit is $55 million for 2021-2024.

The unit will have full operational capacity by early 2024, which will enhance the sawn timber industry segment’s EBITDA annually by €8 million.

The new unit will increase sawmilling productivity by 40% and enable the use of smaller log diameters.

The 1st phase of the investment will increase the unit’s production capacity to 400,000 m³ from 300,000 m³, and in the 2nd phase, it will likely increase to 500,000 m³.
