In 2022, the total log import volume to Finland and Sweden reached over 8 million m³ compared to an average of 16 million m³ annually throughout the last decade.

Log exports from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia to the Nordic countries also fell significantly of which most of the drop was in softwood logs.

In Q3 2018, softwood log imports to Finland and Sweden hit a 15-year high of 2.5 million m³, which fell to over 1 million m³ in Q1 2023 since then.

Finland and Norway had the greatest decline in trade flows to Sweden in 2022, but shipments from Sweden-Finland and Latvia-Sweden showed gains.
