Lumber prices saw an increase of 3% in BC in mid-February due to low manufacturing volumes

In the week ending February 10, the price of standard softwood lumber grew by 3.0% from the previous week when it was $360 mfbm, an increase of 28% from one month ago when it was $373.

Lumber prices popped up again due to constant capacity restrictions, mainly in the important timber supply basket of British Columbia

The U.S. Northeast saw unexpected weather conditions, due to which Eastern wholesalers speculated that the spring season may not be as promising as expected. 

As a result, sales declined and hesitation among buyers increased to build up their inventory for the upcoming building season.
