March shows year-on-year downturn in Brazilian wood-based product exports

Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) showed a significant decline of 16.0% in March 2024 compared to March 2023, decreasing from US$341.0 million to $287.7 million.

Tropical sawnwood exports experienced a notable reduction in volume, dropping by 39.0% from 27,000 m3 in March 2023 to 16,500 m3 in March 2024.

Regarding value, tropical sawnwood exports saw a substantial decrease of 48.0%, declining from $14.6 million to $7.6 million during the same period.

The value of wooden furniture exports also decreased from $54.5 million in March 2023 to $45.4 million in March 2024, marking a 17.0% decline.
