Mercer International's Celgar mill curtailment concludes ahead of schedule

Posted on August 29, 2023   |

Mercer International's Celgar pulp mill, located near Castlegar, BC, is poised to conclude its temporary curtailment with a remarkable one-week early finish.

Mercer attributed the curtailment to a notable reduction in rail transport capacity, stemming from the labor dispute at the Vancouver port that began on July 1st.

Following the resolution of the labor issue, the mill is now able to schedule its reactivation on Monday, August 21st.
