Rosboro plans a $120 million investment to build 2 new mills in Springfield, Oregon

Rosboro, North America’s largest producer of glue-laminated timber, plans to invest around $120 million to build 2 new mills and expand timber-drying operations in Springfield, Oregon.

In February, Rosboro laid off 25 workers after closing its unprofitable stud mill in Springfield.

The stud mill became unprofitable due to market conditions and government regulations, leading to higher log acquisition costs than selling prices for finished lumber.

Rosboro will retool the closed mill to produce a new product called laminating stock.
