Russia cuts lumber exports by 23% due to logistics difficulties in January-February

Posted on April 14, 2023   |

In January-February, sawn timber exports from the country fell annually by 23% to 2.8 million m³.

The shipment issues of the railway to the East training ground harmed the development of export supplies, where Russian Railways were unable to manage the high demand for transport goods.

Siberian areas are also experiencing complications with logistics due to a shortage of wagons.

As a result, some manufacturers cut or temporarily discontinued the production of sawn timber as Siberian areas are experiencing logistics complications due to a shortage of wagons.
