Russia slashes unprocessed timber supplies to EAEU nations by 11% in 9 months

Russia exported about 173,000 m³ of round timber to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from January to September 2024, down 11% from 195,000 m³ in the same period of 2023.

Kazakhstan received the most Russian unprocessed timber, importing 167,500 m³ in 9 months of 2024, compared to 180,800 m³ last year.

Kyrgyzstan’s imports dropped to 4,590 m³ in 9 months of 2024, from 11,800 m³ in 2023.

Belarus imported 875,400 m³ of round timber, down from 1,100 m³ in the previous year.

Armenia’s imports fell slightly to 618.2 m³ in 2024, from 693.1 m³ last year.

Russian resolution no. 380, issued in March 2022, limits exports of unprocessed timber to EAEU countries, with some timber types banned from export since 2022.
