Russian lumber exports totaled 14 million m³ in January-August

From January to August 2023, Russia exported over 14 million m³ of wood, with China being the primary destination, accounting for 8.8 million m³, which is 61.7% of the total shipments.

The total value of lumber exports to China is estimated at $1.813 billion, representing a 2.7% increase compared to 2022.

Among the top importers of Russian lumber, Uzbekistan received 1.388 million c³ (a 0.5% increase), while Kazakhstan imported 0.627 million c³ (showing a substantial 13.3% rise).

Additionally, the UAE and Hong Kong were among the leading importers, purchasing 0.370 million c³ and 0.345 million c³, respectively, with both countries experiencing significant increases in their lumber imports.

Russian lumber exports are primarily directed towards China, but they also find markets in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the UAE, and Hong Kong, reflecting a dynamic international trade in wood products.
