Russian timber industry investments saw a 5% drop in 2023

In 2023, the timber industry complex received investments totaling 188.8 billion rubles, marking a 4.8% decline compared to 2022.
Investors have shifted their focus from conventional building material production to higher-value processed products.
A significant portion of investments, amounting to 119.3 billion rubles, went towards equipment procurement.
The capital was also directed towards infrastructure development (52.7 billion rubles), updating transport fleets (14.9 billion rubles), and acquiring intellectual property (1.9 billion rubles).
Leading in investment volume were the Siberian Federal District, Central Federal District, Northwestern Federal District, and Volga Federal District.
