Sawnwood imports to Europe grew by 24% from January-October 2022

From January-October 2022, imports of tropical-sawn wood into the European Union recovered by growing 24% to 869,000 m³ compared to the same period in 2021, and compared to January-October 2020, it grew by 34%.
Imports to the EU from other major supplies also grew in the same period, from Cameroon imports grew by 23% to 306.4 thousand m³), from Brazil, it grew by 47% to 148.7 thousand m³, from Malaysia, it grew by 29% to 77 thousand m³, from Congo 20% to 65.6 thousand m³, and from Ghana 17% to 25.8 thousand m³.
However, imports from Indonesia to the EU fell by 12% to 48,000which was offset by growth in imports from Brazil by 2% to 60.8 thousand tons and Gabon by 72% to 12.4 thousand tons.
